The Ocean City Md region’s newspaper industry is almost entirely covered by several local publications which are distributed weekly “free of charge” and supported by advertisements predominantly from the local real estate, lodging, and dining industries. Local news is available in print media by “The Dispatch” , “Ocean City Today” and “Worcester County Times” [...] I’m hearing that the BUBBLE may have or is bursting for Ocean City Md Real Estate. While I haven’t seen any real valid statistics, the word on the street from the real estate community is generally that the inventory of for sale properties is increasing and they are starting to stay on the market [...] Our seasonal summer workers typically are comprised mostly of college students who obtain J1 visa’s from their E European Countries. In the most recent years, the students are coming from countries such as Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romania, Latvia, etc. in no particular order. Their goal typically is to experience the adventure of travel, work [...] Smaller towns and cities often rely upon elected council members and Mayors who receive little if any renumeration for their time. We appreciate this, but also hope that their motivation is not self serving, but truly in the interest of the general taxpayer public. Commentary will eventually trail here as actions of note are discussed. News Years festivities will be in abundance over the holiday week end. Many restaurants and night clubs expect heavy crowd turnouts. The following week ends will settle into a bit of a lull until spring, however most larger restaurants and night clubs remain open. |
