Over the past few days I have been mulling about some thoughts regarding blogging in general and it’s purposes and value. Blogging is becoming a mainstay of the internet. It is a way to give a VOICE to the VOICELESS. A convenient and inexpensive manner in which to communicate and share ideas, activities, events, personal journals, business communication, an organizations online journal for members or the general public, and more. It is a way for some to bring thought and attention to issues of importance in their respective communities or about particular topics. A blog is literally an on line journal. With it should come some idea of the responsibilities which would include a CODE OF ETHICS. The Professional Association of Journlists has such a code of ethics.. I also found a great CODE OF ETHICS published by Forrester Research which says it simply and forthrightly. I too am very sad that our contract post office at 130th Street is forced to close. As I understand it, the post office hasn’t given them a raise in over 6 years and their original contract stated that they would get a cost of living raise every 2 years. The postmistress there doesn’t make as much as a window clerk at the post office and their overhead has increased over 50% in the last 6 years. I think this is terrible and they will be sorely missed.
