Montego Bay US Postal Station – Ocean City MD 2nd post

Post Net Montego Bay Shopping Center, Ocean City MDI’m inclined to provide ONE MORE alert and notice about this issue: The USPS Postal Service appears to be desiring to not negotiate a fair agreement with Post Net at 130th ST Montego Bay Shopping Center to provide them fair compensation (as they had agreed to in the original contract) for managing their USPS interests in the Northern Portion of Ocean City MD (which also serves many Delaware residents and businesses) ~~~  INSERTED April 11 2006 - We have been notified by the USPS ~ United States Postal Service,  that our postal PO Boxes in Ocean City Maryland will no longer be available as of May 30 2006 at the 130th St Post Net.. FURTHERMORE we have been notified by the USPS that our existing PO Box #’s will CEASE TO EXIST! ..

We are instructed to proceed to purchase a new USPS PO Box # at the 71st St Post Office … Who is going to compensate us to change all of our business literature information, notify all of our existing clients, magazine subscriptions, taxpayer id information, and all of that. I dread to think of the thousands of business cards we have distributed, the thousands of pieces of literature we have distributed over the past ten years, CONFIDENT that with a USPS PO Box # it would be forever as long as we paid for it.

Who is going to pay us to throw away and replace our stockpile of existing business letterheads with the PO Box # on it that the USPS is retiring? Who is going to pay to replace all of our business cards with new PO Box #’s on them? Who is going to compensate us for the time and effort to edit hundreds of web pages with our PO Box # on it..

SO BE IT FOR THE MONOPOLY OF THE USPS IN OCEAN CITY MARYLAND! ..  and this criticism is not intended for the great USPS employees locally! . They are great and we appreciate their service, but rather it’s directed towards the BUMBLING deaf ear’ed upper echelon folks at the USPS who don’t seem to be able to be able to understand the issues, and the resultant non-benefit to the USPS.

If this happens, (IT HAS HAPPENED)  all of the USPS Postal Boxes residing there will be gone and those with PO Boxes at this station will have to travel to 71st St Ocean City MD to pick up their PO Box mail. The ramifications are significant. I am dumbfounded as to why the postal service doesn’t address this issue. They are behaving like the red tape has them entwined without a voice.

The US Postal Service’s failure to renew or even to negotiate a fair new rate, with regard to Post Net’s contract would affect many many current and future postal customers in the growing North Ocean City MD and most Southern Delaware Areas. North Ocean City MD has a significant year round population, as does the most Southerly Delaware Region in Fenwick Island and along the Rte 54 Corridor. I sure hope that the USPS provides ANYONE with some response to this issue! .. If they have reasons for not being willing to provide Post Net to some fair increase in compensation (to cover their increased cost of operating inflation costs for the past 6 years) .. please MR POSTMASTER .. SPEAK UP!

Why do you feel the residents in North Ocean City do not deserve the convenience of postal services at 130th Street. Why is OK for midtown OC to have service at 71st? Today service is everything and postal services at PostNet saved alot of wear and tear on the nerves of residents trying to reach 71st Street post office in the summer.
I am sure you would be furious and hiring lawyers to go after PostNet if they had not provided the services as specified in their contract; so let’s reverse that….Post Net is not hiring lawyers to go after you….they are only asking YOU to consider the needs of the residents and follow the promises you made when they signed the contract. REMEMBER: TREAT OTHERS THE WAY YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED And consider the needs of residents. REMEMBER: without the residents you’d be out of a job!
