At The Beach – Ocean City Maryland

OK – it’s the WINTER BLAHS for local restaurants in Ocean City MD .. however on Jan 20 2006 our weather is still IN A WARM state of affairs! I’m sure the BIG CHILL will arrive, but it’s the time of the year the local’s and visitors can get 1/2 price entrees – and great happy hour deals, etc. If you’re in town, I suppose it’s best to just pick up a free local paper such as the Coast Dispatch or Ocean City Today to mention a couple of local newspapers and review them for ads placed by restaurants of their off season happy hour and nightly specials. If your a restaurant manager or owner and have a HOT HAPPY HOUR DEAL, just post up a comment with those dollar saving offerings and we may publish them for you here.

I’m not sure this belongs here, but in reading an article in a recent Newspaper – The Maryland Coast Dispatch, Dec 9, 2005 , it appears to me that the Ocean City MD tourism commision continues to stay in the 1980’s relative to media advertising concepts to promote the Ocean City MD vacation resort. $2 plus million budget and $150,000 to a media company contract renewed to continue down the same path. As we enter the year 2006, I am getting some vibes that the BOOM market has begun to flatten. Sources tell me that inventories of On The Market properties are increasing and time to re-sell is getting longer. As we progress into 2006 through the 1st quarter I think we should have a much better feel as to market trends locally in Ocean City MD and really the Delmarva Coast including Delaware Beach Resorts. On the other hand, outlying areas, I am suspecting are enjoying more demand as the prices are more affordable and still within a short drive to the beaches, bays and other amenities of the Atlantic Coast.

The crunch time has come for students from E Europe to find a job sponsor in Ocean City Md, USA and or elsewhere in the USA. I am starting to see applicants most everyday. They are in need of local businesses to guarantee them a job when they arrive. The paperwork is minimal if you want to participate and hire a summer worker. Almost always your decision to hire a summer worker intern from E Europe will be gratifying. Let me know if you wish to be put in touch with some applicants or have some special summer worker needs.
