The 2007 Senior League Softball World Series comes to Roxanna Delaware

Senior League Softball World Series 2007 LogoIt’s August and the annual Senior League Softball World Series (Girls) playoffs commenced on Aug 5th, 2007 at the Little League Ball Fields in Roxanna Delaware. The participants are from USA West, USA East, USA South West, USA South, USA Central, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Canada. Delaware District 3 also particpates with a host team. The age of the players are 14, 15 and 16. All of the games will be held at the Lower Sussex Little League Complex in Roxanna Delaware, USA.

Roxanna DE is close to the Delaware Seashore areas of Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island and just 15 minutes drive from North Ocean City MD.

Governor Ruth Ann Minner, State of Delaware, opening ceremonies, 2007 World Series Softball Tournament.I attended the opening ceremonies on Sunday the 5th and enjoyed the introductions of the teams, visiting dignitaries, and could feel the “anticipation” and “excitement” in the air about getting the games started! The opening ceremonies were attended by the Governor of Delaware, Ruth Ann Minner who gave a pleasant speech to all! Championship Teams, World Series Softball Tournament, 2007, Roxanna DelawareThe teams were introduced one at a time and then positioned themselves around the infield during the opening ceremony speeches, awards and singing of the National Anthem. One could see the excitement in their eyes and manners as the 1st game was scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM. The championship game will be played August 11, 2007 at 2 PM. ESPN will be covering the championship game for it’s television network.
