Fall At The Beach – Ocean City MD
November 21st, 2007The arrival of autumn has obviously brought a change to the landscape here in Ocean City Maryland! Thanksgiving day is here .. and the Holiday’s are within days now. Everyone is enjoying the rather mild weather still being experienced BUT that will soon change for sure! Winter is approaching and we shall anxiously await the arrival of spring. None the less the Ocean City Md and Coastal Delaware Region continues to provide a variety of dining, entertainment and nature experiences!
I recently went to the Ocean City Md Inlet and took a few pictures during a mid morning excursion. The weather was still balmy. The fishing activity was flourishing on the Inlet Rock jetties and the fishing by boat was prevelant also with maybe a dozen boats drifting the inlet in hopes of a nice catch. Visit the Fish Talk Forum Ocean City MD and Coastal Delaware for current fishing information and links to other Fishing in and around Ocean City Md internet resources.
Most all major restaurants in and around Ocean City Md and Coastal Delaware remain open and offer great prices in the off season . as do the Ocean City MD Area and Coastal Delaware hotels and motels for accommodations. It’s a good time to GET AWAY for a day or 2 or more and instead of hanging around the home just think about “getting away” for a short trip. You will find activities and events throughout coastal Maryland and Delaware throughout the winter At The Beach.
You will always find our real time weather stations At The Beach delivering real time weather conditions for Ocean City Md and the Real Time Weather for Bethany Beach / Fenwick Island Delaware areas available here.
Happy Thanksgiving !
quite an improvement both for parking, road access, etc.. OLE MAN WEATHER cooperated on the 2nd and 4th .. but on the 3rd (Saturday) the event went off ok but it was blustery cold as a NorEaster (Tropical Storm) was churning off the Atlantic Coast and generated winds of a steady 30 plus or minus mph especially in the early part of the day, and brought in some unfortunate COLD winds in our faces and bodies. I attended on this day but decided it was better to return on Sunday to take photos and enjoy the day! On Sunday it was around 60 degrees with sunshine and a milder wind so the day was quite enjoyable and refreshing and certainly the punkins (pumpkins) were more willing to FLY FURTHER in the sky.
The spectators enjoyed viewing all the contestants in an organized event manner, and also had the pleasure of listening to GREAT music from live bands off and on during the event and trecking the quite huge grounds to scour out great souvenirs, foods of all flavors, rides and things for the kids, and more! Porta Potties were abundent throughtout the grounds for everyone (and they were clean). Campsites were available for those desiring to camp on or nearby the grounds, parking was abundant and the inroad and outgoing vehicle traffic was assisted constantly by the Delaware State Police.
